As Digital Director, I lead online fundraising and business development strategy for WomenCount’s proprietary online crowdfunding platform, including managing the entire email fundraising program. I also manage communications for the Electing Women Alliance, a nationwide network of giving groups of which WomenCount is a member.
Since the platform’s debut during the 2016 cycle, I’ve crowdfunded more than $5 million—with an average grassroots donation of $50—for democratic women running for office at all levels of government. I’ve also recruited more than two dozen organizations who use the platform for some or all of their online fundraising.
Pathways, the rape crisis center serving Central Massachusetts, contracted me to run an end-of-year fundraiser centered around their 50th anniversary. The fundraiser relied on crowdfunding—providing staff and volunteers with the resources to raise money from their networks—with some direct appeals to the organization’s mailing list and social media followers.
The campaign had a goal of raising $50,000 by the end of 2023. Ultimately, we extended the campaign and raised $54,000 by the end of January 2024.
The Jane Fund is the abortion fund for Central Massachusetts, based in Worcester. As a board member, I raised money, set spending policy, and handled all external and internal communications, including implementing digital marketing and fundraising software like MailChimp, Classy and ActBlue, and leading a redesign of janefund.org. As a fundraising and communications contractor, I ran the organization’s 2023 Fund-A-Thon, which raised $50,000 over two months. I continue to manage the organizations’ social media presence.
As the lead digital strategist at FFAA, I oversaw paid and organic communications for FFAA’s main brand and three core programs aimed at mobilizing local officials, businesses and persuadable grassroots audiences to support LGBTQ nondiscrimination legislation. As director, this included managing the organization’s $250k yearly online advertising budget and $60k departmental budget, as well as managing the communications technology stack.
I also handled communications, IT and digital organizing for four successful, LGBTQ-focused. state and local legislative campaigns in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Virginia.
As the agency’s primary digital strategist, I managed email marketing for all clients, including Congressional campaigns with lists of more than 1 million subscribers.
